Sebastian Rogers, 15, autistic, missing barefoot child without medications.

The teen with autism went missing Feb. 26 and hasn’t been seen since. The autistic teenager is believed to have wandered off in the middle of the night with a flashlight, barefoot and alone.

Chris Proudfoot, Rogers’ stepfather, was working out of town at the time, and his mother, Katie Proudfoot, said her son wasn’t in his room when she went to wake him for school on Feb. 26. Authorities that have searched around his home and beyond have found no signs of Sebastian, nor has he been seen on surveillance cameras, according to police.

Sebastian’s parents caused speculations about what really happened to Sebastian, because many people don’t see any agony, worry, panic which parents usually feel. It seemed that Sebastian’s mother was more interested in giving alibi to her boyfriend than screaming that her autistic son is somewhere alone, barefoot. People also noticed that they were recounting their phone conversation instead of speaking about Sebastian. Actually, I noticed and this is only my opinion, that after Sebastian’s mother said she had found out that Sebastian wasn’t in the house, she called a stepfather ”in three minutes” and that he was worried, but then the stepfather responded to the same question and he wanted to make sure that we heard how much he was worried, so he repeated that he was worried, although they didn’t look for Sebastian outside the house or call anyone else. Stepfather proudly spoke about strict rules Sebastian had to follow and Sebastian was missing. Still, many say that we all react differently, so maybe they are simply like that. Not long after, Katie Proudfoot and her husband moved away and Katie said she worried about neighbors’ safety, so they left the house. Given the fact that they claimed Sebastian just ran away and “walked out the door”, their decision was odd and unnatural for parents. Parents would wait for him, never leave the house.

Investigators continue to follow up on tips they receive, but the investigation – for the most part – has been at a dead end. In early May, investigators checked out a pair of pants that were found and believed could belong to Sebastian. They were quickly ruled out as evidence. His father, Seth Rogers, hired private investigators to search for his son. According to some sources, Katie Proudfoot and Chris Proudfoot refused to let dogs searching their properties. They have sold the house, allegedly. Still, the teen remains missing in a case that has made national headlines. The elder Rogers also started a petition to get the Federal Bureau of Investigation to take over the investigation from the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office has maintained it is doing everything in its power to bring Sebastian home.
